Privacy policy

What we collect

When you join the waitlist: your email, your ZIP code, any restaurants you tell us you'd like added, whether you run a restaurant, and the date you agreed to get emails from us.

When you use the app: the allergens and preferences you choose, an approximate location or ZIP code if you share it, your searches, and the restaurants you save. If you sign in with Apple or Google we get your name and email from them.

We don't collect payment card numbers. If we add paid plans, payments go through a payment provider and we never see your full card number.

How we use it

To run the waitlist and tell you when the app opens near you.

To show you dishes that match the filters you picked, and restaurants near you.

To decide which restaurants to reach out to next. We may tell a restaurant how many people asked for it or searched near it, as totals, never with your name or email.

To keep the service working and stop abuse.

What we don't do

We don't sell your information.

We don't share your allergens or your email with restaurants or advertisers.

We don't send text messages.

Who helps us run it

We use a few service providers to host the app and store data (for example Vercel and Supabase), to send email, and to power the in-app search assistant (Anthropic). They only get what they need to do that job for us.

Your choices

Every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email info@usemunchi.app to see, fix, or delete your information, or to leave the waitlist.

You can remove your allergens and preferences from the app at any time.

Age

Munchi is for people 18 and older. A parent can use it on behalf of a child, but we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think a child signed up, email us and we'll delete it.

Keeping it secure

We limit who can access your information and use encrypted connections. No system is perfect, and if something goes wrong we'll tell you as the law requires.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and email you if the change is a big one.
